Moriwaki, Imai & Fujita, Inc., DBA: MIF Insurance Agency was founded in San Francisco, California in 1942. The original partners, Yoshiaki Moriwaki & Yuji Imai established the insurance agency for the purpose of making available to the Japanese business community a full service insurance agency that could not be matched anywhere in Northern California.

In MIF’s many years of existence, MIF has developed strong ties with both American and Japanese insurance carriers.  Two of the closest and strongest ties are with Fireman’s Fund and the Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company that date back to 1942 and 1947 respectively.  At MIF, the development of strong business relationships with insurance carriers and clients has been the mainstay of the company.  MIF is proud of its long standing relationships in the insurance market that span nearly seven decades.

MIF has earned its client’s trust by providing the highest level of service, keeping in mind each client’s unique insurance needs.

The president, Dick Yamamoto, has over 30 years experience in the insurance field.  MIF realizes that its most valuable asset is its staff.  They all have the ability to expertly handle the technical aspect of a client’s insurance needs.  MIF also has bi-lingual (Japanese/English) speaking staff to assist our many Japanese speaking clients.
